Rentals

Going to Settings > Rentals allows you to completely modify your rental settings and preferences that affect your Users. Below is a list of what you can modify:

In the Rentals section, customize your preferences easily. Set grace periods, maximize simultaneous rentals, receive user notifications for extended rentals, limit availability to specific times, and more. Each option comes with a brief description for clarity.

  • Round Trip - This will require a user to check out and return to the same location.

  • Grace Period - A situation where rentals that end within this time period will not be charged. It can be set from a minimum of 1 minute to a maximum of 5 minutes. Refer to Grace Period to enable this settings.

  • Supports in Rental Unlock - Enabling this feature will allow the user to lock and unlock the unit during a rental.

  • Max Open Rentals - Maximum number of simultaneous rentals per user. This can be set and overridden in rates and memberships.

  • Rental Warning Length - This is the time elapsed before notifying a user of an unusually long rental. Refer to Rental Warning Length to configure these settings.

  • Force End Rentals - Allow users to start rentals on bikes if the previous rental was not ended properly, ending the original rental.

  • Reservations - Allow users to make reservations ahead of time.

  • Time Restrictions - This allows you to set the system time zone, open and close time of your rentals. Refer to Operating Hours to enable Time Restrictions for your system.

  • Prevent Ending Rental Outside Service Zone - Prevents users from being able to end rentals when their GPS location is outside of the service zone of the system. The service zone includes all active zones and stations in a system.

  • Allow Users To End Rentals Outside of a Station - Allow users to be able to end rentals even when their GPS location is outside of the radius of an active station in the system.

  • End Rental Photo - Requires users to take a photo of the hardware during the end rental process. The photo is uploaded and displayed in the rental details page after the rental ends.

  • Disable Out-of-Range Nearest Station Selection - Disables the default behavior of selecting the nearest station to the user’s location at the time of ending a rental when the user GPS location is not within the radius of the station. This makes it so that the user has to be within the radius of a station for the app to select an end rental station.

  • Enable User Device GPS Usage - Enables the use of the user’s device GPS for features that normally rely on hardware GPS, in cases when there is no hardware GPS available. This is less reliable than hardware GPS tracking but allows any system to use location-based features, even if the assets don’t support GPS.

  • Prevent Users From Ending Rentals - Enable this option if you do not want users to be able to end rentals. This is useful if you want rentals to be managed only from the admin site.

  • Enable End Rental Website - Display your website link after the user ended the rental in the app.

  • Display Terms of Service in Every Rental - Require users to have to read and agree to the system’s terms of service at the start of all rentals. By default, users only have to do this once per system.

  • Display Terms of Service in Every Additional Rental - Require users to have to read and agree to terms of service at the start of all additional rentals, for systems that allow starting more than one rental at a time per user.

  • Open Time - Time set when users can start a rental in your system.
