Hardware Setup

Depending on your system, the hardware section will refer to: Bikes Scooters Bikes Rooms Bike Lockers

For some systems, the bikes and locks may already be set up for you by your system provider.

In this example, the hardware selection displays Bikes.

Bikes

For Bikes, you'll see a Bike List tab of existing bikes with their status and location after they have been set up. Click + Add in the upper right hand corner to add a new bike to your system.

The bike list can be exported into a CSV file for your personal records.
  1. First, enter the bike number that will be visible to the user. The bike number can be any number between 1 and 99,999. This is the number that users will see in the app to identify individual bikes.

  2. Next, assign the bike to a location that you set up.

  3. Assign a lock from your list of active locks.

  4. When you are finished, click submit.

  5. Repeat this process to add additional bike units.

Scooters

For Scooters, you'll see a Scooter List of existing scooters with their status, location, and battery percentage after they have been set up. The actions of a scooter will turn solid blue once they are connected to the server. Click + Add in the upper right hand corner to add a new scooter to your system.

  1. First, add the correct hardware product from the drop-down menu. Once you select a piece of hardware, the corresponding options will pop up for you to fill out. This example displays an Omni Scooter, but the other hardware options will ask for information similar to what is displayed in the picture below, in addition to a MAC address.

    1. If you are setting up an Omni scooter, you'll need the following Movatic information when setting up scooters in the Omni app.

      1. IP tcp.movatic.co

      2. PORT 8000

  2. Next, you must have a product version, location, and IMEI selected before you can submit the hardware. A QR code and label will be convenient to keep track of multiple scooters.

  3. Setup the current location of the scooter.

  4. Once you have everything filled out, click submit.

  5. Repeat this process to add additional scooter units.

Bike Rooms

For Bike Rooms, you'll see a Rack List with a rack number, status, and location. Click + Add in the upper right hand corner to add a new rack to your system.

The rack list list can be exported into a CSV file for your personal records.
  1. First, enter the rack number that will be visible to the user. The rack number can be any number between 1 and 99,999. This is the number that users on the app will see to identify individual racks.

  2. Next, assign the rack to a room that you set up.

  3. Once you have filled everything out, click submit.

  4. Repeat this process to add additional racks.

Bike Lockers

For Bike Lockers, you'll see a Locker List with a locker number, status, location, and power level. Click + Add in the upper right hand corner to add a new rack to your system.

  1. First, enter a locker number that will be visible to the user. The locker number can be any number between 1 and 99,999. This is the number that users on the app will see to identify individual lockers.

  2. Next, assign the locker to a location that you set up.

  3. Assign a lock from your list of active locks. If locks aren't already entered into the system to select from, contact Movatic by clicking the '?' in the bottom right corner of the screen. You can check lock details by clicking the Lock List tab inside of the Bike Lockers section.

  4. Repeat this process to add additional lockers.

Locks

Adding locks will only apply to Bikes, Bike Rooms, and Bike Lockers. The Lock List tab can be found beside the bike list or lock list when you click the name of your hardware on your dashboard. To add a lock, click + Add in the upper right hand corner.

The lock list can be exported into a CSV file for your personal records.

Enter the Mac Address associated with your lock, then click submit. Now, it should be added to your Lock List.
